Rain Delay and Birthdays

Did exactly what I said I was going to do last night...went home, made dinner, baked cupcakes, and plopped on the couch.  Tigers game was postponed due to rain {although they called the game long before any rain ever fell} and today's game starts at 4 so I should be able to stay awake long enough to watch my team clinch the American League Championship!  I was so tired but for whatever reason I didn't fall asleep until after 10.  Slept like a rock.

JD was asked to play in a College Showcase on Saturday with the U16 team!  She is less than thrilled about it {I think it has something to do with getting up at 5:00 am on a Saturday?} but this is a HUGE opportunity for her.

Speaking of JD...my baby girl is 14 today!  I can't believe it.  These years have completely flown by {although, believe me, there have been moments where it has felt as though time was standing completely still} and I can't believe she is a high school freshman.  I also can't believe that I am old enough to be her mother.

Today's plan: work {unfortunately}, a quick stop at Just Baked {it's become JD's birthday tradition} for tonight's dessert, baseball, soccer practice {complete with cupcakes for the team}, dinner and bed.  Such an exciting life I lead...
