Breaking Records and Changing Plans

Wow.  What a day yesterday was.  The response to my Follow This Mother feature was overwhelming, to say the least.  I had more visits to this blog yesterday than the total since this site went up in October.  Twitter and Instagram followers, blog subscribers and Facebook likes all went through the roof.  And the comments, tweets, and Facebook messages of support have been unreal.  Thank you all for checking me out and offering encouragement.  I hope I entertain you enough to keep you coming back.

Food

Another good calorie day.  Even with my Swedish fish attack I still came in 57 calories under my goal.  Dinner was eggs again!  JD and I both wanted them and D was sleeping so we won!  JD had an egg sandwich again and I had scrambled eggs with mushrooms, Zima tomatoes, cheese and salsa verde.  Delicious!

Exercise

Exercise:

  • Monday – Run {2 miles} Thumbs up
  • Tuesday – Strength {BBB Strength A} Thumbs up
  • Wednesday – BodyWorks + Run {2 miles} Thumbs up
  • Thursday – Strength + Run Run/Walk {2.7 miles} Dog face
  • Friday – Rest Strength Storm cloud
  • Saturday – Run {1-3 miles} + Barre3
  • Sunday – Race {4 miles}

Yesterday was one of those days when life got in the way of my plans.  We had a winter storm coming in so D needed to get some sleep before being out all night and I was on soccer duty.  There wasn’t enough time between me getting off of work and her needing to be to practice for me to hit the gym so I decided to try a run outside.  I dropped JD at practice, headed home, changed and was headed out the door when Robot figured out what was happening and he wanted to go, too.  I can’t say no to him so off we went. We ran some, we walked some {it’s hard to run when he’s stopping to pee on every other tree}.  It wasn’t the run I hoped to get in but we covered 2.7 miles and it felt pretty good.  Once we got back I needed to pick JD up, get her home and feed her.  After that, I was beat and the thought of strength training made my legs weak.  I scrapped the idea and went to bed.

Woke up this morning to a snowy mess, but not enough of a mess for the schools to close {much to JD’s chagrin}.  I decided to wait for the rest of the world to finish their commutes before I started mine, so I had some time on my hands this morning and my Rest Day turned into Strength Day.  Knocked out Best Body Bootcamp Workout C and burned off some calories before I even hit the shower.

Tonight I am meeting my friend, Patti, at an old German bar in Detroit for dinner.  I can’t wait!  Tomorrow I need to get one last run in and maybe some stretching with my Barre3 DVD.  Sunday is race day!

What are you up to this weekend?  Did the latest snowpocalypse hit your neck of the woods?

  1. I also enjoyed an impromptu run yesterday. Waited on the HVAC tech that never showed, so it freed up an hour of my afternoon before the kids got out of school. 4 miles later and my head was clear. :) Have a fun weekend and good luck on your race! I am off to grocery shop today-surprisingly, one of my favorite mom duties
