Thoughts On a Thursday–Holy Cow Edition

Ever have one of those days where something happens that makes you think this is the worst day ever, then later that same day, something else happens that makes you think this is the best day ever?

Today is one of those days.  Actually, it was one of those mornings.

Woke up this morning with a cold sore on my nose.  I didn’t even know this was possible {it is – trust me}.  As I’m lying in bed thinking this is the worst day ever, I pick up my phone and check my email.  And I see this in my Inbox:

AMR Feature

Hey, that’s me!  I’ve been featured as a Mother to Follow by Another Mother Runner!  Holy cow!  My email, texts, and Twitter have been going berzerk all morning.  This is the first time I’ve ever been “recognized” for running and to have it happen as I’m preparing for my first half marathon…it’s almost like a sign that I’m right where I’m supposed to be, doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.  Many thanks to Heather and the gals at AMR for the opportunity.  I’m enjoying my 15 minutes of fame.

Back to business.

Exercise:

  • Monday – Run {2 miles} Thumbs up
  • Tuesday – Strength {BBB Strength A} Thumbs up
  • Wednesday – BodyWorks + Run {2 miles} Thumbs up
  • Thursday – Strength + Run {2-3 miles}
  • Friday – Rest
  • Saturday – Run {1-3 miles} + Barre3
  • Sunday – Race {4 miles}

Hit the treadmill up in my new Mizuno Wave Rider 15s!

TM and Wave Riders

They definitely felt different than my Ghosts, but I liked them a lot.  Looking forward to pounding them against some pavement.  Jumped off the treadmill and into my BodyWorks class.  Daphne kicked our butts last night!  My arms and legs are jello this morning, but in a good way.

Food:

After my BodyWorks class I had burned off exactly the same amount of calories that I had consumed that day.  How does that even happen?  Got home and made a fried egg sandwich with muenster cheese and bacon on an english muffin.  Took a shower and went to bed with wet hair.  I was way too exhausted to even care about what it would look like in the morning.

This morning I had a coffee date with my favorite girl:

JD and Starbucks

She’s obviously very interested in what I have to say.  She didn’t even know I took this picture.  Teenagers are tons of fun.

Do you ever have breakfast for dinner?  D thinks it’s weird but I love it.  And I crave eggs a lot.

  1. Congrats on being featured on AMR! That's awesome :)

    I frequently do breakfast for dinner because it's so simple & quick. Eggs, bacon & toast, or breakfast tacos ... or pancakes. Breakfast food is delicious any time of the day!

    1. Thank you, Melissa! I agree about breakfast food...and it's cheap, too! I like the idea of breakfast tacos...what do you put in them? Is it like a breakfast burrito in a taco shell?

    2. Basically whatever you want! I like to do eggs, avocado, plain chobani, and salsa! Sometimes I'll add in black beans or bacon. So many choices. Never heard of breakfast tacos before I moved to Texas but now I'm hooked for life :) love 'em!

  4. We had breakfast for dinner on National Pancake Day. I've been eating more homemade egg muffin sandwiches and occasionally I'll make one for after a run.

    Congrats on the AMR gig!

    1. JD is addicted to egg muffin sandwiches. Much cheaper {and healthier} making them at home than buying them at McDonald's.

      And thanks!

  5. Congrats on the spotlight, again, lady! Well deserved.

    And I LOVE breakfast for dinner. Eggs, pancakes, hashbrowns, toasts.... I'll have it all and enjoy every single bite of it :)

    I'm thinking of trying a new pair of Mizunos... glad to hear you're liking yours so far. Makes me feel more confident about testing a different type.

      Ooooohhhh, hash browns! Now I need to have some...

      So far, so good with the Wave Riders! Think I'm going to wear the Ghosts on Sunday, though, only because I have more miles on them.
